Transition

How much a 4-year-old child can amaze you? Probably to an extend that our imagination wouldn’t have travelled.

Since the outbreak of covid19, he adapted his life as per protocol in a small town. I know it's not a very long time to judge, but as a father when I see how deprived he is
after moving to one of the major city of Europe, my heart melts.

How is a 4-year-old supposed to behave in city where language and culture is alien to him. But against his will we have moved him from a place filled with his loved ones to a place no one knows him.  Where kids are not able to play with him because they don’t understand his language. We all have gone through this phase in our life at some point in time and rare cases it plays an important role in what kind of personality we become.

I understand it will take time to adapt but what is the cost of this transition, I still can’t imagine what he is going through. With his limited potential to express he must be puzzled about whole new situation. What bothers me is that few impressions are everlasting, and deeply engraved into one’s memory.

Our decision to move to entirely new country is definitely a combined effort to make a better future , but we have never given a thought from perspective of a kid of such tender age. We have certainly not counseled him for new environment which we should have done, it might have reduced his unsaid pain. We can clearly see  how deprived he feels in the most abundant nation in the world.

At the end, challenges are what make life interesting and overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.
