Genesis '08

The bugle was blown, the event which we were waiting from years has arrived ‘Genesis 08’. This was the time where we Brave 11 stood together to fight and to prove our supremacy before RCERT. It was the initiation of returning the people for what they have voted me and my friends to become the governing body of the Student Council of our Dept, TREES.

After the trip, because of misunderstanding, group of 30-35 boys was shattered and only 11 of us were left to face the massive opposition from whole college. In the beginning, before Vishwakarma Mandir, I told Manas, “These two months will be very crucial for us. He has to reach our extremity to prove our dominance”. Manas answered with smile, “We have organised and performed many times but never met an adversary who could offer us defeat. This is an opportunity for us to reach our extremity and to know our limit.” This was the level of passion or madness among our boys to become the champ of the college. We know what’s what the power of internal politics is. Internal politics has always lead to defeat of any dept. On the base of it we develop our information centre to trace every move and activities of other dept.  We approached every traitor of their respective dept to build our defending strategies against them.

It was not we were not infected by internal politics; it was increasing day-by-day. 'Knowing who to trust' was everything left in our business. From 2nd year, we stood as local panel party and hence we were facing many attacks from hostelites, not only of our dept but of whole college. Even we were not supported by our departmental staff and our every activity was considered as violation of law. “No compromise…..No surrender…..We will stand united & fight” was only law we considered. Although we were suffering with differentiation, we started doing integration with final year girls, 2nd & 3rd year juniors. Spirit and passion of every junior were utilized in their respective areas.

REVOLUTION was the tagline for canvasing election. Everything was done in three steps. First, allocate the right person. Second, allocate the desired amount to them and third, give that person complete freedom to work in its own way. Maximum amount was spend to buy new sport kit for cricket , football, volleyball, etc.  It was the first time, our department student have their own kits. For the first time in RCERT, departmental T-shirts were made with taglines and logos. LAN gaming was made possible for first time in college. Management is best which managed least. Everyone was assigned to their work on basis of their talent and interest. Dance was handled by Manas, Sports by Prasad, Rohan and Sandipp, T-shirts by Imran, stage decoration by Ankush, quiz, debate, elocution by Nikhil and Himanshu, LAN gaming by Wadaskar and Amit Negi, Mr RCERT by Gaurav and mine job was very simple just to regulate them all.

With no excuse and compromise, we did what we want to do and what we were assigned to do. Our routine was changed, morning walk changed to discussion walk, college time turned to practice session, interval to ward off the hurdles and evening as decision making time. At the end, our nights were turning sleepless. The virtue of never sleeping was that we have to live in our dreams. Our eyes were witnessing the brutality of hostelites, our ears were hearing their tantrums when we use to enter hostel ground and we can feel their hatred toward us. But we were only prepared for glory, we never lost hope and became Champion of College.

We never expected any tribute, mementos, or award from anyone. Our wish was very simple “Remember us” Remember us for the sacrifices we had to bring the change. Remember us for the Victory not with others but from our-self.
